Description

Nouveau Chamber Ballet, under the direction of Artistic Director Sheree King, proudly presents “70 Years of Lois Ellyn Ballet Studio: Celebrating Our Past, Present, and Future.” Join us for a celebration of the legacy of Lois Ellyn on Saturday, May 16, 2026, with performances at 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM at Curtis Theatre. Reserved seating $25 – $35.

A gala will be held between the two performances from 4:30 to 6:30 pm, featuring complimentary light refreshments and beverages. Performance attendees are welcome to stop by at any time during the event. At 5:00 pm, we will host a special dedication in honor of our 70th anniversary.

The first half of the program showcases original works by Lois Ellyn, including Autumn Leaves and Come Off It, set in 1920s Trouville, France. Also featured is the witty, storybook ballet The Tale of the Little Grey Horse, returning to the stage for the first time in nearly 20 years with Nouveau Chamber Ballet. The second part of the program features new choreography by current Nouveau Chamber Ballet choreographers Sheree King, Tom Bozigian, Janaina Faustino Watkins, Scott Anderson, and Teresa Dietrich.

Ticket sales directly support our mission of providing meaningful performance opportunities and arts education for dancers, helping us carry forward Lois Ellyn’s legacy through Nouveau Chamber Ballet. We hope to welcome former dancers and their families who have been part of our studio over the past seven decades to join us for this special performance and gala.
